Five details turn a holding reply into a useful one. None of them take long, and together they save an entire round of questions.
Best for detail and photographs — the hall, the stairs and the drive answer most of our questions at once. Replies within a working day or two.
Weekdays & Saturday mornings
Through the working day Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings. Moves run outside those hours where a building or a job requires it.
- Both addresses
- Road and house at each end. In HA5 the road tells us more about access than the postcode does.
- The access
- Drive or kerb, gravel or hard standing, lift or stairs, and whether a long vehicle can turn.
- Approximate volume
- Rooms will do — a five-bedroom house plus a loft and a garage, a two-bed apartment, one room of furniture.
- The dates
- Both the preferred date and the one that cannot move, if they differ.
- Anything unusual
- A safe, a piano, a marble top, a piece assembled in the room. Notice changes the crew; surprise changes the day.
