How a move works here
Three steps, in that order, every time. Most of what goes wrong on a moving day is a decision that should have been taken a fortnight earlier.
A surveyor walks both properties where possible: the volume, the doorway widths, the staircase turns, the drive surface and where a vehicle can stand. Pieces that will not pass a landing are identified now rather than at nine on the morning.
Crew size, vehicle, start time, loading order, any permit or shuttle, and what happens if your dates move. It goes on the quote in writing, with the reasons, so you can compare it against anybody else's.
Protection down, wrapping in the room, the load built in the order agreed, and the inventory checked with you at delivery. Nothing is improvised because nothing needs to be.
What gets decided, and when
The old centre has narrow frontages and almost nowhere to stand; Pinner Green and Eastcote have drives and verges. One of those is a shuttle job and the other is not, and the difference is settled at survey rather than argued about on the day.
Larger HA5 houses hide a third of their contents outside the bedrooms. An honest volume decides crew size and hours; an optimistic one decides what time you finish.
Roads near the stations empty early and refill at six. Streets near schools seize up twice a day and then clear. We set the start time from your road and tell you which pattern it follows.
It is written into the quote before it happens: what storage would cost you in disruption, how much notice a change needs, and what we can do at short notice. A plan that assumes nothing changes is not a plan.

Listed by what each area does to a vehicle rather than by postcode, because that is what decides your crew, your start time and the length of your day.
Narrow frontages and limited standing in the old centre. Planned as a shuttle rather than attempted as a full-size load.
Wide interwar roads, drives at most houses and verges that take a vehicle. The most predictable loading in the postcode.
Larger detached houses, gravel approaches and long front paths. Crew size matters more here than access does.
Tudorbethan and interwar stock with side access and garages. Straightforward, with a school run that decides the start time.
Rising ground, private drives and approaches best looked at before the day. A survey question every time.
Flats above the parade and estates behind it. The parade traffic sets the window; the buildings rarely cause trouble.
Crossed constantly on longer moves. Northwood has its own removals firm and local work there belongs with them.
Both have their own firms. We deliver across these borders; we do not claim either as our patch.

The European arm
The same discipline applied to a longer job: measured, planned, executed. What changes is a customs file whose lead time is considerably longer than the packing.

On anything large, yes. A wardrobe that will not pass a landing is a fact worth establishing a fortnight early, when the options are dismantling, a window route or leaving it — rather than at nine in the morning when the options are fewer.

Rarely for long. The old centre has narrow frontages and little standing, so those jobs are planned as a shuttle: a smaller vehicle running to a larger one parked where a larger one can legally sit. It is on the quote with the reason.
